Challenge Wanaka Preview 2018
Challenge Wanaka is our first big event of the year! It's only a few weeks away now & we couldn't be more pumped. To help all those involved in this five day celebration of all things multisport, we're giving you lot a couple of great deals.
Firstly; If you're in town during Challenge Wanaka (15th-19th), purchase any Aloe Up 118ml Pro Sport Sunscreens from Races Edge, Base, Mt Outdoors or at our marquee at the Challenge Wanaka Health & Lifestyle Expo, and you'll receive a free Aloe Up Pro Sport Lip Balm SPF15 (a 25% discount).
Aloe Up Pro Sport Lip Balms are designed to athletes even in the highest of altitudes. These lip balms are made from natural moisturizers including avocado oil, sunflower seed oil, beeswax & of course aloe vera oil. They also contain natural antioxidants such as coconut, mango & vitamin E. This makes them great at repairing dry, cracked lips & they're even better at damage prevention.
If you can't make it to Challenge Wanaka, you can still get 15% off your next online order. Just use the code: CW2018. This offer lasts until the end of February.
Challenge Wanaka has built up its reputation as one of the most beautiful but demanding triathlons in the world over the last decade, bringing about 2000 athletes & participants from all over the globe to the lakeside village. Those taking part in the full event will swim 3.8km, bike 180km & then finish off with a 42.2km run including the infamous Gunn Hill Road.
But Challenge Wanaka isn't just for the pros. There are multiple events spread out over the five days to ensure there is something for the whole family, bringing the multisport community together & creating a carnival like vibe. Sporting events include the Full & Half Challenge for both individuals & teams, Corporate Teams Challenge for business, the Otago Secondary Schools Triathlon Champs, a Junior Challenge for kids aged 6-12 & an Aqua-Bike division for those with dodgy knees or aren't so keen on running.

Highlights from Challenge Wanaka 2017
We are proud of our relationship with Challenge Wanaka & our abilities to provide the best sun protection available for every athlete. There will be a 950ml pump bottle of Aloe Up Pro Sport SPF30 Sunscreen at every aid station along the course (9 for the cycle leg & 7 for the run). Our Ambassadors love Aloe Up as it absorbs quickly (less time spent at the aid station), is non greasy (your grip on the bike handles is unaffected) & doesn't bleed into your eyes (because no one wants stinging eyes when they're trying to run 42km).
Aloe Up Ambassador Carl Read, always bringing the good vibes.
We also have some of our Ambassadors taking part in Challenge Wanaka Championship.
The Challenge Wanaka Championship is a Suzuki Triathlon National Championship event & is also the primary selection event for The ITU Multisport Festival World Championships.
Keep an eye out for 3X Challenge Wanaka Champion Dylan McNeice who is fresh off the back of a win at the Port of Tauranga Half Ironman. After a tough 2016 which included hip surgery, Dylan had been building himself back up throughout 2017. He finished off 2017 by competing in a series of half distance ironman Challenge events throughout Europe, picking up a third place finish in Rome & winning in Finland. You can follow Dylan on his journey here.
Carl Real is also coming of the back of a couple of injuries & will be looking to get back to his best.
Not long to go now! Good luck to all competitors.
