Serena Hunter - Cook Islands #1 Outrigger Canoeist & Aloe Up Ambassador
Aloe Up sponsored outrigger canoeist Serena Hunter from the Cook Islands has had a very successful paddling season placing 6th in her first Molokai solo, the prestigious 55km ocean race between the islands of Molokai and Oahu a few weeks ago, and following this up with a very successful medal haul in Papua New Guinea, at the Pacific Games which is held every 4 years, winning her country's first gold in vaka (canoeing) from the hot favourites Tahiti in her V1 10km race, a bronze in the V1 500m, and a silver with her teammates in the V6 20km race.
The 43 year old mother of 4 is not able to rest on her laurels just yet however, she heads to Tahiti next week for Te Aito the 14km rudderless race, taking up the winners air ticket from the Te Aito Cook Islands which she won earlier this year. She then looks forward to a much deserved break in Tahiti with her family.
Congratulations Serena from Aloe Up
